This weekend we all went on our monthly trip to Sleepy Eye for Jason's diaconate classes. (For those of you who don't know, Jason is studying to be a deacon in the Catholic Church. God-willing he will be ordained in 2012.)
I must say it's become a weekend we all really look forward to. The kids are always asking, "When are we going to see the nuns?" We stay at the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary retreat center and the sisters take very good care of us. I look forward to being around a bunch of great faith-filled friends and being able to socialize. I have to admit that I also like that we get 3 wonderful meals a day as well as an amply supply of constant snacks...what every nursing mother dreams of!
The bad thing is that when we get home, I get into a mode of not being really thrilled about making meals or doing my household duties for a day. Also, Ian doesn't like having to be laid down so I can accomplish these things after having being held and talked to constantly for 3 days. But today my day of leisure catches up with me and I know that I need to tackle the pile of dishes because I had to eat my breakfast with a baby spoon from a container normally used for leftovers.
